Best known for the houseboats that crowd the shores of Lake Union, but also home to apartments, condos, and Northwest bungalows.

Eastlake got its name because, you guessed it, it’s located on the east shore of Lake Union. The business district is located up and down the neighborhood’s main thoroughfare, Eastlake Avenue East. Shops, amenities, and many beloved restaurants, like my favorite Eastlake Bar & Grill, line the avenue.

Besides the houseboats and the original Red Robin restaurant (which is now closed), a highlight of the neighborhood is the former City Light Plant completed in 1921, that now houses ZymoGenetics, one of the oldest biotech companies in the country.
